CHOIR SERVICE

     HARMONY JOURNEY: CHOIR SERVICE AND                 CONCERT IN TWO CITIES

ORIENTATION: 

On 8th and 15th November 2025, i performed choir service with others choir member. More precisely, the choir service is in the form a concert with dance combined in several songs. I have participated to choir community during 10 years since 2015. My choir community has division of sound types such as Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass. I take the Soprano part The name of my choir community is "Angelic Choir" where the community holds an annual concert with different theme every year. This year, our choir has the honor of performing a choir concert entitled "Journey of Grace" which combines selected arrangements from the classical musical "Sound of Music" and combined with spiritual songs such as " I Will Sing with The Spirit, "Thanks Be To God". We performed 14 songs. Me, with other teams, leaving with high spirits, ready to share the fruits of months of practice. Bandung, which is our headquarters, be the beggining and ending points from this every journey. 

EVENTS:

Jakarta: Short and Energetic Journey.                    Our first concert held in Jakarta. On 8th November, we decided to do a round trip from Bandung. We left Bandung at 5:30 am. The concert's location is at "Smesco Jakarta", upon arrival at the location, we took a short break and then practiced before the choir concert started. The day, we were faced a major challenge: performing in two full sessions. The first sessions took place at 3:30 pm and the second session begin at 7:00 pm. In both the afternoon and evening sessions, we read the complete package: the touching operet "Journey of Grace" followed by a cheerful arrangement of the musical "The Sound of Music." ​ The afternoon session served as a valuable warm-up to perfect blocking and dynamics. We used the breaks between sessions to maintain our stamina. In the evening, in the second session at 19:00, in front of an audience we performed songs with a cheerful and majestic melody from "The Sound of Music" with operette titled "Journey of Grace". After the concert was over, we immediately returned to Bandung. The night feels so long and drain energy, but the satisfaction of successfully holding two successful choir concerts. 

Bandung: A Warm and Friendly Closing.              One week later, precisely on 15 November 2025, we held closing choir concert in Bandung. The concert's location in Bandung is at "Sabuga Bandung", we start practice in Bandung from 11:00 am until 13:00 pm. Then, we did make up and lunch first before the choir concert started. We start choir concert on 06:00 pm, 20 minutes before, we waited on backstage then we Pray together before the choir concert begin. As the concert began, the "The Sound of Music" section felt very special in Bandung, where songs such as "The Sound of Music", "Do-Re-Mi", "Edelweiss", "Climb Ev'ry Mountain" were performed with joy, creating a beautiful moment, as well as the operet "Journey of Grace". The closing concert was a success, capping off a series of mentally and physically challenging, yet incredibly satisfying, performances. Performing in front of family, friends, and loyal supporters provided a warmer and more intimate atmosphere. We felt a deeper emotional connection to the songs we performed.

RE-ORIENTATION:

The spiritual values ​​of Mother Mary that I got from this performance service are Obedience, Sharing Joy, and Discipline. From "Obedience" i got that every member must obey to conductor's instruction (as "God wills) so that harmony can be created. From "sharing joy" i got that choir perform/concert also aim to service and sharing the joy of faith to audience. From "Discipline" i got that choir need high discipline, perseverance in difficult practice, and courage to appear in public. This is a form of steadfastness in serving. Two choir concerts in two cities in a short time, both in Jakarta and Bandung, has become an unforgettable experience. "Journey of Grace" was truly a journey we took, both musically and physically. We learn a lot about stage management, stamina, and the most importantly, the power of teamwork. We not only managed to showcase music but we managed to convey a message and create an emotional connection with audiences in two cities. This harmony journey from Jakarta to Bandung has taught us the true meaning of service through the talents we possess. We not only share music, but also share heart and spirit. Both of this concerts will always be a valuable moment which marks the pinnacle of dedication and our hard work.
